ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Normal Heart is a silk-screened print of David Rockwell’s set for the 2011 Broadway revival of Larry Kramer’s 1985 play The Normal Heart, which focused on the rise of the HIV/AIDS crisis in New York City in the 1980s.
“The print is a graphic representation of the dimensional walls we create that contained 6,310 individually cut out letters that formed sentences that recounted the early days of the AIDS crisis,” says Rockwell.
